The British Type 291 was a refinement of the Type 286P using the same antenna. It was fitted to nearly
all British destroyers, escorts, and submarines. It was a simple
design, requiring just a week to install. Later versions had PPI
displays. An earlier trial version, Type 290, was installed on a few ships.
