Ishigaki (124.189E
24.342N) is an island in the Yaeyana Retto group of the southern Ryukyus. The Japanese Army constructed an airfield here in 1943, which was repeatedly raided by the British Pacific Fleet during the Okinawa campaign of March-June 1945.
