Oxnard (119.177W
34.197N) is a city in southern California located northwest of Los Angeles. The airport here was
established in 1934 and paved and given a large hangar in 1938, and in
1940 the U.S. Army Air Corps established a primary flight school, Mira
Loma Flight Academy, at the airport. The Air Corps took over the
airport when war broke out, turning it over to the Navy in 1944.
