Mehtlakahtla (131.572W 55.036N) was the southernmost airfield in the air bridge from Puget Sound to Cold Bay. Activated in September 1940, it was completed just as war broke out. It is located at the southern end of the Alaskan "panhandle" and is not to be confused with the Metlakahtla near Prince Rupert in British Colombia, Canada.
