Sai Toshio (Itsuki Toshio according to some Australian sources) commanded
36 Independent Mixed Brigade in
the Nicobar Islands in the
last year of the war. He was hanged by the British for the massacre of 83 Nicobar civilians and the deaths by mistreatment of three others.
